Job Summary:
The Housing Coordinator assists in accessing resources to homeless/ precariously housed clients/families in the community. Responsible for providing peer support services to members with behavioral health issues, psychiatric disorders, drug and/or alcohol dependence, and physical illnesses. Will act as a consumer advocate, provide information and support for consumers, and assist consumers in their recovery process. Will oversee, process, and follow through with housing applications to ensure successful placement. Facilitate community engagement and involvement to support special needs clients in the least restrictive environment and encourage growth in community services . The applicant must also have relevant training on working with homeless, SED, SMI populations and common issues by individuals in the community.
Core Competencies:
• Identifies programs/services/resources appropriate for the individual's needs, and provides assistance to the individual accessing those programs/services/resources.
• Tracks homeless clients served and the number engaged for services with the agency.
• Assists clients in identifying service resources for obtaining and training stable housing.
• Interfaces with community agencies that outreach to the homeless and other vulnerable populations,
• Collaborates with property manager( s) in the community supervising supportive housing communities.
• Assists residents of supportive housing communities to receive reasonable accommodations.
• Tracks resident compliance with supportive housing community requirements.
• Interfaces with other supportive housing workers from community agencies working with residents of
the supportive housing communities.
• Participates in individual and group supervision.
• Participates in staff meetings.
• May advocate on behalf of clients to secure needed services in the community.
• May provide services to existing clients within the CCSS program, if needed.
• May attend NM Coalition to End Homelessness meetings.

Job Requirements:
• Must be 21 years or older per Program Regulations
• Bachelor's degree in a human service field OR High School Degree with a history of working with SED children and families for at least two years or more
